John J. Jordan
Managing Director,
Crisis Management Associates, LLC
President, ACP Northeast Florida Chapter

John J. Jordan is the Managing Director of Crisis Management Associates, LLC, a consulting firm which provides emergency management planning, training and exercises for a wide variety of governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and corporate clients. John has almost forty years of operations and planning experience, with over twenty years specializing in the field of emergency management.
This presentation will focus on how to organize, conduct and capture a post-pandemic “After-Action Review.” It is vitally important that companies and organizations identify the challenges they faced, how they coped, what worked, and what did not work during this pandemic event. This information can then be used to make changes in plans, thus ensuring a better response during future events.

Presenter John Jordan has extensive experience conducting After-Action Reviews and preparing After-Action Reports for governmental and non-governmental clients and has trained hundreds of emergency management personnel in the proper methodology for executing Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant After-Action Reviews/Reports. He has served as the Project Manager for many corporate and governmental AARs after a variety of disaster events, including the 2009 Influenza Pandemic.

Presented by:
Dr. Larry Barton
Threat Assessment Expert and Professor of Public Safety, University of Central Florida

Dr. Larry Barton is widely considered the world's leading assessor of threats to people and the worksite with over 30 years of supporting employers when an employee, contractor or third party poses a risk through actions, ideation, social networking, or suggestive behaviors. The author of five books, 70 peer reviewed articles in the continuity, medical, behavioral and business press, he is the on-air commentator during cases of workplace violence on CNN and CNBC. For the past 16 years he remains the highest rated speaker at The FBI Academy on the issue of mitigating the potentially violent person, including cases of suicidal ideation and due to intimate partner violence, that could spill into the work site.
The Violent Person at Work is on everyone's mind, from multinational employers to nonprofits. In 2021 alone, a massacre impacting a workplace has occurred on average once a week, the highest levels reported in 19 years. The continuity leader must have a seat at the table, working with HR, Legal and Security when a person may be agitated by a performance review, separation discussion, community relations problem or because of mental illness, for example. Dr. Barton will help unlock the appropriate way continuity leaders can influence awareness, not paranoia, and specific tools and strategies aimed at keeping your workplace safe. This is a rare opportunity to hear from and exchange ideas from the nation's leading thought leader on violence at work.

Supply chain cyber attacks are trending up. While they aren’t new, there’s a clear and concerning trend taking place with third-party software and service providers rapidly becoming attackers’ favorite target. And it’s easy to understand why given the domino effect that supply chains present and adversaries simply needing to find a single weak link in what could be an extremely tangled, and vulnerable, web.

Over the past 12 plus months, the pandemic has taken its toll on everyone. But, even amid all of the uncertainty, there’s a silver lining: vaccinations. The second the FDA authorized the Pfizer vaccine for immediate distribution, a light at the end of the tunnel appeared. And, before we knew it, Moderna was approved, and healthcare workers, those with pre-existing conditions, and now, everyone else has become eligible. As a result, people have rushed to buy plane tickets and book hotels to take their long-overdue vacations. How do airlines and the rest of the travel industry confirm guests have been vaccinated and aren’t a risk to others?

Vulnerability management is more than a software tool that scans devices and shoots out an (often massive) list of vulnerabilities. It’s a defined and testable process that ensures people and technology work harmoniously and communicate effectively. Once such a strategy is implemented, you can generate predictable, accurate and timely insights into emerging vulnerabilities and minimize risk.

Unfortunately, many if not most organizations are failing to clear this bar.

For any company, be it a large, established Fortune 100, or a modern hyper growth company like Peloton, you need to adopt a Shield Right while you Shift Left strategy to protect yourself from API security threats. But what does this really mean?
