Managing Director,
Crisis Management Associates, LLC
President, ACP Northeast Florida Chapter

John J. Jordan is the Managing Director of Crisis Management Associates, LLC, a consulting firm which provides emergency management planning, training and exercises for a wide variety of governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and corporate clients. John has almost forty years of operations and planning experience, with over twenty years specializing in the field of emergency management.
This presentation will focus on how to organize, conduct and capture a post-pandemic “After-Action Review.” It is vitally important that companies and organizations identify the challenges they faced, how they coped, what worked, and what did not work during this pandemic event. This information can then be used to make changes in plans, thus ensuring a better response during future events.

Presenter John Jordan has extensive experience conducting After-Action Reviews and preparing After-Action Reports for governmental and non-governmental clients and has trained hundreds of emergency management personnel in the proper methodology for executing Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant After-Action Reviews/Reports. He has served as the Project Manager for many corporate and governmental AARs after a variety of disaster events, including the 2009 Influenza Pandemic.

Dr. Larry Barton
Threat Assessment Expert and Professor of Public Safety, University of Central Florida

Dr. Larry Barton is widely considered the world's leading assessor of threats to people and the worksite with over 30 years of supporting employers when an employee, contractor or third party poses a risk through actions, ideation, social networking, or suggestive behaviors. The author of five books, 70 peer reviewed articles in the continuity, medical, behavioral and business press, he is the on-air commentator during cases of workplace violence on CNN and CNBC. For the past 16 years he remains the highest rated speaker at The FBI Academy on the issue of mitigating the potentially violent person, including cases of suicidal ideation and due to intimate partner violence, that could spill into the work site.
The Violent Person at Work is on everyone's mind, from multinational employers to nonprofits. In 2021 alone, a massacre impacting a workplace has occurred on average once a week, the highest levels reported in 19 years. The continuity leader must have a seat at the table, working with HR, Legal and Security when a person may be agitated by a performance review, separation discussion, community relations problem or because of mental illness, for example. Dr. Barton will help unlock the appropriate way continuity leaders can influence awareness, not paranoia, and specific tools and strategies aimed at keeping your workplace safe. This is a rare opportunity to hear from and exchange ideas from the nation's leading thought leader on violence at work.

Dr. Gleb Tsipursky
CEO, Disaster Avoidance Experts, LLC

Dr. Gleb Tsipursky is an internationally-renowned thought leader in future-proofing and cognitive bias risk management. He serves as the CEO of the boutique future-proofing consultancy Disaster Avoidance Experts, which specializes in helping forward-looking leaders avoid dangerous threats and missed opportunities.
In this engaging, interactive, and entertaining presentation, you as a business continuity professional will dramatically improve your ability to return to in-office work by benchmarking to best practices. Many leaders prefer in-person work, yet research conclusively demonstrates that those employees who can do so have a strong preference to work remotely much of their time, and a large minority all of their time. Moreover, remote workers show substantial productivity gains, cost savings, and risk mitigation.

Mental blind spots called cognitive biases often inhibit leaders in seeing this clear conclusion. The best approach to returning to the office involves a hybrid-first model with some limited full-time remote options. Doing so will enable organizations to excel in retention and recruitment, boost productivity, re-energize company culture, gain substantial cost savings, and manage a wide variety of risks.

This presentation offers case studies and best practices that you need to make the most effective and successful return to the office, to maximize your competitive advantage in the most important resource: your people.
