"I received my certification back in 1994 when I lived in Colorado and worked in the telecommunications and consulting businesses.  Since then, I moved to Houston, TX, to pursue my career in the Oil and Gas industry as the Corporate Records Program Manager.  I find that everything I have learned and gained from this certification has helped me with surviving through Hurricane Ike and Harvey, and more recently Winter Storm Uri, where the unthinkable happened.  I love the ability to attend webinars and virtual meetings, as it helps me to focus on my work at hand, but also continue to grow and learn in the Business Continuity profession."

Businesses depend on critical 3rd party providers and supply chains for products and services that, if disrupted, could negatively impact customers and clients.  This could be in the form of financial losses, but it could also have contractual, reputation, and customer retention implications.  Over the past 18+ months since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way that we can share with other practitioners.  Business Continuity professionals need to be actively engaged and integrated into the supply chain risk processes and procedures.  Join presenter and Liberty Valley Chapter ACP member Michael Harding for an in-depth discussion.
Presented by: Michael Harding

Are you prepared to identify and manage risk? A recent Forrester Consulting study found that most organizations struggle to proactively manage risks. In fact, just 30% are very confident they can handle increasing complexity of risk management in the future.  But there are a few organizations that have mastered four key components of critical event management to achieve improved awareness, response and outcomes.

  • Why overconfidence is a threat to preparedness
  • How a lack of planning is inhibiting effective response

For the vast majority of organizations, both corporate and government agencies, compliance requirements are a painfully complex and expensive area to manage. And the challenge is only getting greater. Virtually every sector faces an ever-growing and ever-changing number of regulations with which they need to comply. Every organization also faces the risks of failing to comply with its own internal corporate policies and controls, spanning multiple financial and operational systems.

While universally desired by individuals and enterprises alike, true privacy is nearly unobtainable. On a conceptual level, adhering to privacy may appear straightforward, but the logistical and technological challenges getting there are daunting.
