ACP ACTIVITY UPDATE

Thank you for the opportunity to report, from a staff perspective, some of the activity areas we have been pursuing on behalf of ACP. It has been an incredibly active 90 days of pre-transition meetings and transition activities to move from the former association management company to FirstPoint Management Resources. Speaking for the ACP staff, we sincerely appreciate your patience as we have been moving through the various change processes. There are still a few transition elements that need to be resolved, but most of the major areas of transition have been completed. Here are some items we’d like to share.

  • As you saw from the previous issue of N&V we completed a strategic planning exercise and we have begun work on specific objectives of the plan. The top priority as expressed in membership survey responses is technology. Staff is already hard at work supporting the Technology Committee by sending a technology assessment survey to all chapter presidents and national board members. Those results have been compiled and shared with the committee who met to discuss these findings earlier this week. There are several committee sub-groups that are working in several assessment areas. Some specific items will take longer to evaluate; some will develop quickly. We will update you on progress and we achieve specific targets and milestones.

  • We are also looking for volunteers! Two of our Key Results Areas dealing with communication and professional development need some volunteers to participate in focus group exercises to discuss some of the strategic plan survey response data in more detail. The focus group sessions will be approximately 45 minutes long and will be facilitated by David Brady. Specific dates and times for the sessions have not been identified at this time. If you would be willing to participate in a focus group for either communications or professional development, please email ACP Director of Membership Cecily Wilson at . Thanks so much for participating in this very important process.

  •  ACP communication via News and Views was interrupted briefly by the transition activities. We are putting the distribution back on track for twice monthly distribution. All chapter leaders who wish to communicate chapter event information for distribution to the ACP membership or those who may want to make ACP members aware of other activities that impact or inform the ACP membership can send those stories or submissions to Cecily Wilson (). We will include these items in the next N&V.

  • Also, we have some exciting announcements regarding upcoming Webinars. You will find an announcement for our next Webinar in this issue of N&V. Our education committee is confirming webinar presenters and scheduling them as soon as we have speaker confirmation. Also be on the lookout for details coming soon on an upcoming face-to-face event to be held immediately after the DRJ fall conference.

Thanks so much for your continued support of ACP and for your participation in recent survey and coming focus group events. Understanding your needs is critical to our being able to serve you better!

"Organizational Resilience is quickly becoming the key focus of executive leaders and board members in organizations of all sizes across most industries. But true resilience is about more than developing and executing a business continuity plan, it’s about an organization’s ability to be agile in the way it approaches risk. It’s an organization-wide shift in mindset, that requires executive support and a cycle of continuous improvement. The continuity leader is in a unique position to champion this change and drive a culture of resilience within their organization."

During this presentation, attendees will learn more about what it means to be a resilient organization and actionable steps to start shifting from a culture of continuity to true organizational resilience.

Join ACP as we welcome OnSolve's Ann Pickren as our speaker for the Professional Development webinar July 28th at 1pm Eastern Time.
