We are a group of dedicated professionals involved in business continuity and disaster recovery planning. ACP-CT provides a forum in which to share best practices, develop professional relationships and encourages continued professional growth and experience. Members enjoy this economical alternative to out-of-town conferences as the CT Chapter addresses the unique needs and culture of Southern New England.
Meetings are held monthly, typically on the second Tuesday of the month, at this point meetings will be virtual and Zoom information will be sent out with email. Meetings features guest speaker(s) on hot topics via presentation and round-table discussions. The Chapter welcomes ideas for future presentation topics and appreciates presenter referrals.
The Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) – Connecticut Chapter was chartered on November 28, 2005 and is the 34th Chapter servicing Connecticut, Western Massachusetts and Southern Rhode Island.
Our chapter is an active and experienced group of business continuity professionals. Membership includes a nice cross-section of firms that are world renowned and also regional in scope, providing a great environment in which to exchange ideas
In 2006, ACP-CT was the recipient of the Eagle Award, awarded yearly by ACP International to the chapter(s) with the largest membership growth. We shared this honor with the Boston chapter and look forward to continued growth.

Those whose ACP membership has lapsed or have yet to join are asked to remit a $25 cover charge (to help defray expenses) at check-in.
I understand that attendance at ACP-CT meetings qualifies for DRII continuing education credits. Does the chapter automatically apply for my credits with DRII?
No. You must apply for your credits directly with DRII. The chapter membership directors keep a record of meeting attendance to support your request for DRII credits. When attending an ACP-CT meeting, please make sure to sign in or check your name on the meeting attendance sheet to verify your participation.
Why are meetings almost always held at Eversource Energy in Berlin, CT?
ACP-CT strives to provide outstanding value to its members; Eversource Energy has graciously allowed us to use their facility. Members who can host a meeting at a facility that can accommodate approximately 50 people (with free parking) should contact a member of the Leadership Team.

M&T Bank - Operational Resilience & Risk Analyst Opening
Overview:
Executes existing procedures as assigned in support of the Business Continuity Program. Understands basic business continuity and disaster recovery planning concepts and completes due diligence reviews to ensure assigned business processes or technology plans are in compliance with program policies and standards. Works with teammates to complete tasks assigned from one or more program categories, including Crisis Management, Exercising, Governance and Regulatory, Third Party Risk Management, and Training, Awareness and Communications or general administrative/project support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Operational Resilience program deliverables
- Liaise with business partners to classify and map important business services, core processes, and underlying asset dependencies, to assess criticality and associated risks.
- Assist in the development and participation in tabletop exercises to test the capacity and effectiveness of operational resilience plans.
- Maintain and monitor actions and issues from identification to closure that are identified through the completion of work within the operational resilience program cycle elements and Steering Committee feedback.
- Write reports to summarize results of planning, testing and gap analysis activities, including conclusions, findings and recommendations.
- Develop relevant metrics for management reporting upon program status and resilience capability risk levels.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) annually and throughout the year as necessary when changes occur.
- Maintain currency on all applicable regulatory, banking and industry standards related to Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Operational Resilience as well as emerging risks.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with BCM program requirements, FFIEC BCM standards and guidelines and any other relevant best practices.
- Prepare for and respond to audit and regulatory requests.
- Complete due diligence reviews for third party engagements as assigned and effectively communicate risks identified in a manner that is understandable for business line management.
- Strengthen culture, process, and documentation related to Business Continuity Management and Operational Resilience department activities through the creation of training materials and administration of training and awareness to embed program requirements across the company.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the business continuity and operational resilience system tools and perform tool administration activities to maintain and enhance data management and reporting.
- Develop system tool training guides and provide system training to users of the planning system and guidance to explain tool content. Collect and provide user feedback and suggestions for improvement of the system.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- Prepare periodic status updates and reports on assigned initiatives.
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma and 1 year work experience
Foundational understanding of Business Continuity Planning concepts
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience interpreting written procedures and reporting data
Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent word processing, and spreadsheet software
Proven business office etiquette
Scope of Responsibilities:
This position requires the ability to apply project and program management skills to the development, implementation, execution, tracking, reporting and maintenance of our operational resilience program.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Minimum of 2 years’ combined higher education and/or operational, business analytics and systems development experience or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years’ Business Continuity Management experience or equivalent industry knowledge (banking, finance, technology, emergency response)
Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or domain-related industry-recognized certification
