SESSION INFO

Lessons Learned from the LA Fires

Join us as we review lessons learned from the recent LA Fires, and compare with other recent fires.

We will discuss the current cleanup process along with the potential urban impacts that create complications for traditional cleanup,  reoccupying those homes still standing, and the role of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the burn zones.

And finally, review the role that preventative programs such as Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) played in saving lives, homes and other structures across the region.

Red Cross Victim Assistance including those from the LA Fires

Join us as the Red Cross walks through their process to assist victims of disasters, focusing on the recent LA Fires.

American Red Cross disaster workers are on the ground providing affected residents with safe lodging, nourishing meals, comfort and care during this ongoing crisis.

Recovering from a wildfire takes time and a diverse network of organizations and services to make sure people have the help they need.

The Red Cross is committed to providing individuals affected by the wildfires with safe shelter, access to food, basic health services, emotional support, and immediate financial assistance.   FEMA approval is not required to be eligible for Red Cross financial assistance.  Receiving Red Cross assistance does not make you ineligible for FEMA assistance.

Learn how the Red Cross makes a difference for individuals and communities in response to disasters across the country, no matter how big or small.
