Honoring a Legacy that Continues to Shape Our Community
One of the most meaningful moments of this year’s GTBACP Resilience Conference was the announcement of the Steve Elliot Memorial Scholarship , created to honor a leader, mentor, and friend who helped shape our chapter and the business continuity profession.
Steve Elliot served as President of the Greater Tampa Bay ACP Chapter during some of its formative years, helping build the strong, supportive community we continue to grow today . But beyond his leadership, Steve was known for his generosity, his willingness to mentor others, and his deep belief in developing the next generation of professionals .
To carry that spirit forward, the chapter established this $1,000 annual scholarship to support Florida undergraduate students pursuing careers in business continuity, disaster recovery, risk management, cybersecurity, crisis communications, and related fields. While open statewide, preference is given to students in the Tampa Bay area ,reflecting Steve’s passion for strengthening our local professional community.
