Building Resiliency through Engagement in North Texas
Welcome to the North Texas Chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP). ACP is a non-profit professional organization, which provides a forum for the exchange of experiences and information, for business continuity professionals, throughout a network of local chapters.
Founded in March of 1986, the North Texas Chapter is one of the oldest continuously meeting chapters, and among the largest by membership, serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding region.
Events are generally held on the first Tuesday of every month but may vary due to holidays or speaker schedules. Events are for current members and invited guests only. If you aren't a member but want to attend one of our events, please contact us or consider joining the chapter.

** Call to Action **
One of our North Texas chapter members is seeking peer companies in the manufacturing sector for an informal benchmarking on disaster recovery (DR) and resiliency architectures, as well as related DR policy compliance practices. The goal is to identify and share best practices through collaborative, informal data sharing.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Annette Brunken at a-brunken@ti.com with Texas Instruments, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, MBCP.

President's Address
April brings longer days, signs of spring, and a few light-hearted traditions—like April Fools’ Day. But in our line of work, the last thing we can afford is to be caught off guard by surprises. A well-timed prank may get a laugh, but a poorly prepared continuity plan? That’s no joke.
This month is a great reminder that not everything goes according to plan. Systems fail, people make mistakes, and the unexpected *will* happen. The best way to avoid being the punchline of an unplanned disruption is to test your plans regularly. Tabletop exercises, scenario reviews, and communication drills are simple ways to uncover gaps before reality does.
April also brings Easter for many—a season often associated with renewal and hope. It’s the perfect time to refresh parts of your program that may have gone stale. Dust off that emergency communication tree, check your vendor contact lists, and review lessons learned from recent incidents. Small updates now can save you from big headaches later.
Most of all, take time this month to encourage resilience beyond your core team. Help others in your organization see that continuity isn’t about fearing what could go wrong—it’s about being ready for whatever comes next.
Here’s to staying sharp, prepared, and maybe even enjoying a few harmless April Fool’s pranks along the way.
Wishing you a resilient and refreshing April!
